P.E., music, art, band and strings classes are available on demand for students to access through Blackboard 24-7    Each week new classes are posted for students to complete over the course of the week.

Down in the Valley Open Mic Session

Hello SVES Families,

We are excited our Down in the Valley Open Mic Session 2 on Thursday, April 30th at 5pm via Blackboard Collaborate Ultra.  We’d like to open this session up to Students, Parents and SVES Teachers.  Be sure to tune in to see the show!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Click on: https://us.bbcollab.com/guest/e9bed1bc9a814b6eb2ab054bf8e12ec1
  2. If you have a talent to share (Singing, Instrument: guitar, piano, band or strings, recorder, Dance, Painting they made, etc.) click the Raise Hand at the bottom of your screen.  If you don’t want to share, no problem, you can be the “audience.”
  3. I will moderate the session and call on acts in the order the hands are raised.  When I call your name unmute your mic (click on the mic button at the bottom of the screen) and be sure your video is on (next to the mic button) and you can perform.  When you are finished lower your hand and mute your mic.

*All acts should be school appropriate*

Future open mic sessions will include fun themes!  Family acts, Teachers, SVES alumni, the possibilities are endless!  If you have a theme in mind, just let me know! 

We need a logo!  Have your child submit a drawing to Mrs. Delaney and Mrs. Smith and we’ll select one to use when advertising the Down in the Valley Open Mic sessions!

Helpful Hints:  Have a parent or capable sibling hold the computer or phone for the performer.  Be close enough to the camera for the audience to hear and see clearly.  If the first attempt at performing doesn’t go as planned, just re-raise your hand when you’re ready and I’ll call on you for a second try.
