STUDENT RAM BLAST

Providing students and parents with important updates and reports of events and happenings in the middle school.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week

The Robinson PTSO wants to celebrate our wonderful faculty and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4 - 8!

We are sending HAPPY MAIL to all faculty and staff with gift cards to local businesses that have supported our boosters.

EMAILS TO TEACHERS: We would love for students and families to send emails and notes to each teacher next week, letting them know we support them and their time and effort as they navigate working and learning from home.

DECORATING CONTEST: We also would like to ask families to decorate their front doors/porches, or yards, thanking teachers (and other essential workers, too, if you would like!), then post a picture by Wednesday, May 6 at noon. There will be a contest to see the best yard!

Thank you to all the parents supporting your students through distance learning, and to all the students who sent photos for our collage.

WE LOVE OUR ROBINSON STAFFULTY!

FCPS After School @ HOME | Robinson

FCPS Middle School After-School specialists have put together a number of virtual after-school activities to engage students in the arts, STEM, physical fitness, cooking, games, puzzles, and more!

Robinson students can access these virtual after school activities by joining the "FCPS MS After-School @ Home | Robinson" Google Classroom.

The classroom code is: iiyee2k

Once your student has joined the site, there are a variety of activities (topics) they can choose from in the "Classwork" tab. We hope this resource helps your student actively pursue interests during this time of social distancing in addition to joining any of the Robinson based clubs listed below.

Be Safe! Be Active!

RMS Clubs Meet Virtually

To help us stay connected, sponsors have set-up a google classroom for their club or activity and meet virtually each week at a set time. Students are encouraged to join using google classroom!

Use appropriate code to join; see chart below.

Virtual meeting link emailed to student account weekly.

School-Based Social Emotional Learning and Wellness Resources During Distance Learning

School Counselors, School Psychologists, and School Social Workers are available to support students, families and staff during distance learning. They are supporting students, families and staff in many of the same ways as they did prior to distance learning, but it may look different now.

Here is what schools are doing to continue social emotional learning and mental wellness:

Instructional activities addressing social and emotional skills and mental wellness topics are embedded in instruction to include school counseling and Health & PE lessons/activities.

Consultation for teachers is provided to support students’ social, emotional, and mental health needs in an instructional setting.

Individualized student and family support is available at all school levels to address social emotional learning, mental wellness, and access to basic needs.

Mental Wellness Consultation: Parents may schedule a 30-minute phone consultation with a school psychologist or school social worker, for either themselves or their middle or high school student. This is an opportunity for parents to receive guidance on how to support their student’s emotional well-being. For more information, click the following link:

Mental Wellness Consultation

To learn more about these activities, please contact your student’s school counselor, school psychologist, or school social worker.
