Dear Parents/Guardians:
Please join me in welcoming Teresa “Tracy” Ballard to Westfield. She will be the substitute counselor for Juliet Violett, acting DSS, in sub school 3 for students with last names ending in Li – Mol and will remain with us through the end of the current school year.
Mrs. Ballard has been a school counselor for six years, primarily in Fairfax County Public Schools, as a long-term high school counseling substitute. Most recently she worked for the Diocese of Arlington Catholic Schools as a PreK-8th grade counselor.
Mrs. Ballard’s background is in journalism and public relations, having worked as a reporter for three newspapers, and as a writer and editor for INOVA Health Systems. She started her masters in school counseling while living overseas and completed her studies upon returning to Virginia.
In 2014, her family settled in Virginia when her husband retired from the US Air Force. Mrs. Ballard and her husband are both Florida natives, but Virginia has become home to their family which includes 2 adult children and 1 teenager.
In her free time Mrs. Ballard enjoys reading, working outdoors and watching college sports. She is also a volunteer puppy parent/trainer for Warrior Canine Connection – raising service dogs for veterans and military families.
She looks forward to virtually meeting students and school staff.
Stay healthy; Be safe; GO BULLDOGS!
