Letter From Mr. E:
Dear Parents,
I offer the following non-education article as a source of comfort and validation to you as you juggle so many new and competing responsibilities as parents. When I use the word “grace”, I am inferring that you should give yourself permission not to have to get an A+ at parenting, homeschooling, and being a working parent. There is no “balance” here, but rather a matter of prioritizing.
We are continuing to reflect on how we can streamline and ease the burden while deferring to you in terms of how much your child takes advantage of the learning opportunities provided. Distance learning is not about completing assignments or earning a grade. It is about engagement, connection, and routine. Social media posts from friends who are using this time to do amazing things only fuel the feeling that you may not be doing enough when really survival is the main goal of this quarantine.
You are not alone. Reach out to us if you need support or feel overwhelmed or frustrated. We’ve got your back. I am also attaching the link to our FCPS Parent Resource Center. The Fairfax County Government also just launched a parent support line.
Please know how thankful we are for every attempt you make to support your child to engage and connect with what we are offering. Please keep well-being the top priority for you and for your entire family.
Sincerely,
Mr. E

Teacher Appreciation week
Please see below for some ways you and your students can reach out to thank teachers during Virtual Teacher Appreciation Week.
Virtual Comic Book Club
We now have a virtual comics club for students to join during this quarantine! It is on Google Classroom and the code is: wwto6qe.
There is a parent info/permission form, some videos, and a reading guide. The students will need internet access to use Comixology to download the books (each is 99 cents). They only have to read 1 to join. There will be intermittent online activities as well.
