Forestdale Distance Learning Update

Greetings, Falcon families.

We hope this finds you well.  We want to thank you for your patience, flexibility, and grace as we all navigated the new world of virtual learning last week. It was wonderful to be able to see many of our Falcons on Tuesday, and we are looking forward to resuming distance learning via packets, Channel 21, and virtually.

Distance Learning Resumes Tomorrow

You should have received an email from FCPS on Friday evening explaining that we will return to distance learning tomorrow, Monday, April 20.  Our staff has worked to create new Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (BBCU) links with enhanced security features that can only be accessed within Forestdale's Blackboard 24-7 learning course.

In order to access both the virtual teaching sessions as well as office hours sessions, your child will need to log into Blackboard 24-7 and then access the new links.

Step-by-step directions can be found below.

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Log-On Directions- ENGLISH

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra Log-On Directions- SPANISH

Please note that the BBCU links will only be visible on Blackboard 24-7 when your child logs in.  You cannot access the links by logging in through a ParentVUE account.  If your child does not remember his or her username (student ID #) or password, please contact the teacher prior to instruction to help reset the password.

If Blackboard is unable to provide a reliable operating system, your child’s teacher will still provide new instructional opportunities for your student in addition to the learning packets and videos streaming on Channel 21.  Should this be the case, your child’s teacher will be in communication with you with more information.

Virtual Spirit Week

In honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day, Forestdale will be hosting another virtual spirit week this week, April 20-24.  Click here for fun ways to honor Mother Earth together this week!
