Dear Newington Forest Families,
It’s been an extraordinary few weeks with everything surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. This has obviously affected schools across the nation and ours as well. During this time, we had our major fundraiser of the year, the Boosterthon Fun Run, in full swing. As we’ve learned more about the length of school postponement, I want to provide an update about the Fun Run.
Our partners at Boosterthon have provided resources and guidance to complete our fundraiser under the new circumstances. Since our event will need to be completed at home, we will be replacing the Fun Run with a Dance Fit event that can be done inside and at home! After conferring with their team, below is how we will adjust our program due to the interruption.
Dance Fit: We invite you to participate in our virtual, at-home event on Friday, April 24th! We will send out more details as the day approaches, but this is a FUN way for our students to get active at home—plus allow you to join in, too! Every student will be recorded as completing 35 minutes danced, unless you notify us otherwise.
PLEDGING: We were able to gather pledges for 3 days before program interruption. We want to say THANK YOU for your support during that time. If you or a sponsor made a pledge per lap, the wording will now reflect pledge per “minutes danced”.
PAYMENTS: With our collection process being completely online, the payment method associated with your pledges will be processed when the laps or dance minutes are entered. We will be notifying all of our sponsors of this action as well. If you would like to modify your “per minutes danced” pledge, you can do so on funrun.com. If you made a flat donation, your payment had already been processed. If this pandemic has caused your situation to change in a way that will affect the payment of your pledge, please reach out to support@boosterthon.com, and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you. Any pledge edits MUST be done BEFORE April 23rd. All payments will process after our Dance Fit event on Friday, April 24th.
PRIZES: Don’t worry! 😊 Booster has all of the records on who needs what. When school resumes, we’ll deliver any prizes not yet rewarded. All top prizes will be delivered directly to your home after the event.
