Dear Fairfax Villa Families,
Due to the issues that some schools had with Blackboard Collaborate today, changes must be made immediately in how students access their courses. In order to give teachers time to make these changes, all FCPS Distance Learning will begin two hours late tomorrow, April 15th.
This means that all teacher-led instruction will begin two hours late and all teacher office hours will be canceled on April 15th. We will resume our regular instructional schedule and teacher office hours on Thursday, April 16th.

Students/families will not be using the links that were previously given to them by teachers.
To access the instructional sessions with teachers or the office hours with teachers:
- All students will need to log into their FCPS Blackboard 24/7 account with their student number and their FCPS password. https://fcps.blackboard.com/
- Click on the grade level course. (i.e. Fairfax Villa Third Grade)
- Look for the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra tab on the left menu. Click on that tab.
- Students will see the sessions they are enrolled in.
- Click on the session button to join the session.
- The student’s name will automatically show up.
- Parents are NOT able to access this on their Blackboard Parent account.
- Students are permitted to log in 15 minutes early.
We apologize for the last minute notice and we appreciate your flexibility as we learn to navigate Distance Learning together as a division during this unprecedented time. Please know that we are in this with you and we will support our students through these times as best we can.
