Distance Learning Plan Update
Help Organizing Classroom Links
Courtesy of your Robinson School Based Technology Specialists, we are sharing a YouTube video with you to help your student manage the multiple links they received from their teachers this week. This video will walk students through how to find all the links to their virtual classrooms in the stacked Gmail message they received from Blackboard Collaborate.
Also, Ms. Phillips sent this link organizer earlier this week. We are including it here for your convenience. Your student will need to log into their FCPS Google account in order to open the organizer. We are encouraging them to make a digital copy of the link organizer, and store it in an easy to find location, so that they can join their virtual classrooms with ease.
If you need assistance with distance learning, please use this list of contacts to reach the correct person. We have also included this tip sheet for parents to support students on this journey
School Counselors Available
Need to speak with a counselor? Any FCPS parent may schedule a 30-minute phone consultation with a school psychologist or school social worker, for either themselves or their middle or high school student.
Consultations provide an opportunity for parents to receive guidance on how to support their child’s emotional well-being during their time away from school. Student consultations will provide support and strategies to students who may be experiencing difficulties with anxiety, mood, behavior, or peer or family interactions during this unprecedented and challenging time.
Note: Parent consultations are available for all grade levels. Student consultations are only available for middle and high school students. Schedule a phone consultation online

School-Based Social Emotional Learning and Wellness Resources During Distance Learning
School Counselors, School Psychologists, and School Social Workers are available to support students, families and staff during distance learning. They are supporting students, families and staff in many of the same ways as they did prior to distance learning, but it may look different now.
Here is what schools are doing to continue social emotional learning and mental wellness:
● Instructional activities addressing social and emotional skills and mental wellness topics are embedded in instruction to include school counseling and Health & PE lessons/activities.
● Consultation for teachers is provided to support students’ social, emotional, and mental health needs in an instructional setting.
● Individualized student and family support is available at all school levels to address social emotional learning, mental wellness, and access to basic needs.
● Mental Wellness Consultation: Parents may schedule a 30-minute phone consultation with a school psychologist or school social worker, for either themselves or their middle or high school student. This is an opportunity for parents to receive guidance on how to support their student’s emotional well-being. For more information, click the following link:
