Student Registration

reg

Schools remain closed to families; however, if you have a rising kindergartener or other new student to register, we would like to do a preliminary registration now.  Early registration for next year is important as it supports the number of teachers for which we are staffed.

To register your child for school, please email jahorne@fcps.edu with “Registration” in the subject line.  If you are able to fill out the registration packet online, save it to your device, and attach it to the email to send back to us, that is the preferred option.  If you are not able to do that, please let us know when you might be available for a phone interview.  After we receive your email, we will reach out with any additional questions. If you have any questions or concerns about registration, please email Mrs. Horne.

When the office re-opens, we will ask you to come to the school to present the necessary documentation for registration (child’s original birth certificate, physical and immunizations, enrolling parent’s ID, lease/deed to your home). This will finalize your child’s registration.

A Note from the Oak Hill Specialists

Just like your child’s classroom teacher, the specialists have been busy planning for Distance Learning instruction. We have created a Blackboard site to provide ways to connect and communicate with specialists.  You will find information from each specialist including AART/STEAM, Art, Counseling, FLES (Chinese), Library, Music, and PE.  All our specialists are so excited to see your children and to engage with their students!

Every week, you will find a new choice board with an array of activities from our specialist teachers. Students will need to be logged into their google accounts to access the choice board. This is another avenue for your child to connect with teachers at Oak Hill and to supplement their daily learning.  We will also look to add options and to make adjustments as we learn together during the last quarter of the school year.  Specialists will be holding daily office hours that will be used for various activities and will also be responding to parent or student email throughout the day.

Going forward, the choice boards will be sent home through classroom teachers weekly emails on Friday. Please reach out to specialists if you have any questions! We hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy and we are looking forward to connecting with your children!

Virtual Spirit Week

To help kick off our first week of distance learning, we are having another Virtual Spirit Week.  Please send your pictures to oakhillesmedia@gmail.com.  We look forward to seeing some great pictures!
