News You Choose - Friday, April 3, 2020 - Important Information

Hello West Potomac--

I am hopeful that you all are staying safe and doing well.  This week has been very busy for the WP teachers and staff.  You should have started to hear from your teachers. You will likely hear from some over next week as well during spring break.  We are ready and excited to begin the DLP on April 14th

Thank you,

Tangy

Library Services

The library staff is looking forward to supporting students and teachers as we move to distance learning. Mrs. Landon will be holding virtual office hours for students on from 10:00-11:00 on Monday, and from 9:00-10:00 on Wednesday/Friday.  Mrs. Rice’s virtual office hours are from 1:00-2:00 Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  If those times don’t work for students, please email either one of us to set up a time that works for them (jllandon@fcps.edu or wsrice@fcps.edu).

We have placed a number of “how to” videos in the 2019-2020 WPHS Library Blackboard course. These include, accessing ebooks, searching the catalog, working in databases, and using NoodleTools for citing sources.

The county and the West Potomac HS library subscribe to a number of databases.  The databases contain vetted information and sources.  Passwords to all of the databases can be found in the 2019-2020 WPHS Library Blackboard in the “information section.” Please remember that these are for the use of students of West Potomac HS and/or FCPS and they should not be shared with anyone else.

Please enjoy your school library books at home. No books are overdue and they can be returned when school buildings re-open.

We look forward to working with students virtually for the remainder of the school year. Please feel free to reach out to either one or both of us to help.

Ms Landon and Ms. Rice
