Haycock Virtual Spirit Day
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our teachers and staff have had a busy week as we have begun training for Distance Learning. FCPS Instructional Services has developed and is presenting a variety of online structures and resources for all FCPS teachers. Haycock teachers have been collaborating and sharing instructional programming that will support student learning and begin on April 13 on grade level Blackboard sites. Resource teachers and specialists have been developing their own sites and working to support all grade levels.
We are extremely thankful for our dedicated teachers and supportive community. Their hard work is greatly appreciated. Teachers have reached out to students and families and begun to have virtual class meetings this week. This work is invigorating and we very much look forward to "seeing" our students again! We miss our students dearly.
We celebrated our Virtual Haycock Spirit Day and have included pictures of students and staff. Thank you to those families who shared their photos. Make sure to follow us on Twitter as many at-home resources and experiences are being posted daily. Or send photos of students to Ms. Boyd at haboyd@fcps.edu and we'll share in our Haycock updates.
Enjoy your family time together at home. Take care of each other and be well.
Haycock's wildlife is following social distancing protocols
(Deer Me...Kiss and Ride is running smoothly!)
(Speedy the Turtle is keeping a safe distance from the fish.)
American Heart Association Fundraising Gifts
We received confirmation this week from the American Heart Association that because VA schools are closed until next school year, all of the fundraising gifts will be shipped when schools open back up.
We know students are eager to get their gifts and we appreciate your patience. If you are currently a 6th grader and will be at Longfellow next year, we will have your gifts available for pick up in the Haycock front office in the fall. We'll let you know of the date/time to pick up those materials in a Haycock Hello.
If your family is moving and will not be at Haycock in the fall and your child will have a fundraising gift, leave your new mailing address with the front office staff and we will mail your child’s gift to your new home.
