Distance Learning at Forestdale
Falcons, we miss seeing each and every one of you! We cannot wait until we can all return to our Forestdale home. Our teachers are excited because we reconnected virtually as a staff this morning! We are gearing up for distance learning and are looking forward to reconnecting as classroom communities and as one Forestdale family again.
Where do You Go?
Stay connected with Forestdale and FCPS in different ways:
Channel 21
FCPS will use Cable Channel 21 to air literacy and math lessons. You can watch on TV (check your local listings) or stream online.
US Mail
FCPS will mail learning packets to all students in PreK & grades K-6 beginning March 30. Check your mailbox weekly for new activities.
Blackboard 24/7
FCPS has posted activities here (log into Blackboard 24/7 to view), and our teachers are busy creating learning activities which we will be posting in our school Blackboard site: Forestdale Elementary 2019-2020. After spring break, each grade level will have a page within this course, and new activities will be uploaded weekly. Parents: Sign up for a ParentVue Account to review the resources posted in Blackboard. More information about teacher-directed learning will be shared soon.
Telephone, Virtual Chats, Email
Our teachers are reaching out to connect with our Falcons. We may call, email, or set up virtual chats, so keep an eye out for us! Phone calls will come from Private Number or Blocked Caller.

Monday | World Doctors’ Day: Tweet, write, or chalk a note to thank all the nurses and doctors helping to take care of the sick and injured.
Tuesday | National Walking Day: Indoor or Outdoor! Morning, afternoon, or evening… join us for a walk!
Wednesday | Wellness Wednesday: Take time to read, draw, color, or journal.
Thursday | Autism Awareness Day: Wear blue to show support of autism awareness.
Friday | Falcon Pride Day: Wear spirit wear or Falcon green to show your love for your school!

Yearbook Deadline Extended to April 18
We spent many amazing times together this year! Order your yearbook to cherish those memories. The yearbook purchase deadline has been extended to April 18, 2020. All sales have to be online using school ordering code 13267020. Prices begin at $16.
