We're having a READ-A-THON to raise money to help our school! This engaging spring fundraising event was set to launch during school on Monday...but since we're away from Shrevewood for a while, we're firing our thrusters to point us in a new direction...to continue our Read-A-Thon—AT HOME!
Let's SHOOT FOR THE MOON, Shrevewood!
WHAT DO PARENTS NEED TO DO FOR READ-A-THON?
- Go to the Read-A-Thon website www.read-a-thon.com/readers to activate your students account and set up a
Reader Page profile using the Individualized Student Reader code that is provided on their Take-Home Sheet*
that was sent home in your child's Thursday folder.
- Use the easy online tools to tell family and friends about our Read-A-Thon and ask for one-time
flat donations to support our read-a-thon and help our school raise money! There is no minimum and all
donations are welcome!
- Encourage your child to track and log their own at-home reading sessions online during the Read-A-Thon
(March 16-27), using the easy online tools on their Reader Page! Encourage students to read as much as they can!
REWARDS:
- EVERY student who creates a Reader Page profile will receive a cool SPACE-THEMED BOOKMARK!—
no donations are necessary in order to earn a bookmark!
- Other prizes will be announced periodically throughout the two-week Read-a-Thon by grade level, class, and/or
individual participation based on reader minutes and/or donations. These special motivational “contests” will be
announced on our SHREVEWOOD PTA FACEBOOK PAGE! (Prizes earned will be distributed upon our return
to school in April!)
