Monday Materials Pick-Up & Laptop Info

Dear Shrevewood Families:

These are certainly unprecedented times.  As outlined by Dr. Brabrand, we will be closed for an extended period of time in the interest of greater public health. Please take this time to take care of yourselves and loved ones.  Know that our students are in the forefront of our minds.  Below are some important updates.  Please remember, for the most updated information, visit the FCPS website at www.fcps.edu.

The Virginia Department of Education has recommended that all public school systems provide continuity of learning programming for the next three weeks. FCPS will promote digital and online resources to FCPS students that will help student learning continue. This work will not be required nor graded.  As our teachers do not have the workday as planned on Monday, additional time will be needed to create and post class-specific plans.  For now, FCPS is recommending using the electronic resources already available to families to keep students engaged with their learning and practicing already-learned skills.  We will continue to communicate as new distance learning opportunities become available.

Shrevewood Operations for Monday, March 16

A limited number of laptops will be available for pickup for grades 3-6 only by families that have indicated a need using our survey form.  If you have indicated that you need a device for your child, please plan on picking up the device at Shrevewood between 3:00pm and 5:30pm. If you need a device and have not communicated that to us, please fill out the survey. We have been assigned times by FCPS to allow for our limited staff resources to be stretched between schools.

Essential items may also be collected between 12pm and 5:30pm this day. We will also have the library open for check out.  Please plan on spending no more than 10 minutes with your child selecting books.

Food Services Plan

The Food Services team has done a tremendous job mobilizing “grab and go” meals for our highest need communities. The closest school site for Shrevewood is Graham Road Elementary School (2831 Graham Road, Falls Church, VA 22042).  These meals are free for any FCPS student (no age restriction) and are available to adults for $2.00.

There are resources in the community, these can be found at the bottom of that page.
