Dear Franklin Families,
At this point, it is likely that you have received the communication from Dr. Brabrand that our schools will be closed until April 10. I want all of our Franklin families to know that we are all in this together. While our physical building isn’t open for the community and we are asked to maintain social distance, I encourage our students and families to continue to remain connected to one another. Use the technology we have at our disposal to reach out to your loved ones and friends. During our time apart, continue to foster the connections and relationships built through school and activities. By working together and caring for each other, we will find the right way forward.
As we prepare for the extended closure, the Franklin Office will be open on Monday, March 16 between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:00 pm for students to pick up laptops, binders, musical instruments, and other resources. Please check in at Door 1.
As additional information becomes available, we will communicate that to you as quickly as possible. We understand that this is a difficult time and that families may be feeling a variety of emotions around this closure. If there is anything we can do to help, please do not hesitate to contact me.

ParentVue Accounts
This weekend, the FCPS IT Team will be pushing out emails to any parent who does not currently have a ParentVue account. Please sign up if you do not have an account as this will be important for distance learning.
Food Distribution
Fairfax County Public Schools is providing emergency grab and go lunches at no cost for students at five sites to students (more sites may be added), from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. School-age students are welcome to come to any of the five sites below to pick up a lunch during that time period.
- Bailey’s Elementary School, 6111 Knollwood Drive, Falls Church
- Hutchison Elementary School, 13209 Parcher Avenue, Herndon
- Hybla Valley Elementary School, 3415 Lockheed Boulevard, Alexandria
- London Towne Elementary School, 6100 Stone Road, Centreville • Burke Center, 9645 Burke Lake Road, Burke
All meals are available at no cost to children 18 years and under. Adult lunches are available for purchase for $2.
