Monday, March 16 Schedule

In the event your student needs to pick up their laptop or their belongings, students will be able to stop by on Monday, March 16, from 7:45 AM - 3:00 PM. Teachers, coaches, and most staff will not be on duty.


SAT Testing

The SAT scheduled for any FCPS location tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, has been cancelled. Any student who was registered to test will receive information directly from College Board. Due to the high volume of closures, communication from College Board regarding this cancellation will likely be delayed.

Food Services
Free meals are being made available for any FCPS student (no age restriction) and are available to adults for a small fee. The school site for Region 3 is Hybla Valley. More information on this is available here.

ParentVue Accounts
If you do not have a ParentVue account, you will be receiving an email this weekend to help you set one up. By doing so, you will have access to SIS (student information system) and Blackboard, which is the online resource that allows students and parents to find classroom assignments, access homework, and other important tools for success. This will be especially important during this period.

Cable Channels – Continuity of Learning
If you have a Cox cable account, your students will be able to access instructional learning on the following Cox channels: This content will also be available on line at https://www.fcps.edu/.

Channel 21 is Elementary Programming
Channel 25 is Middle School Programming
Channel 99 is High School Programming


Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

Over the past few weeks, 82 Edison students competed in a variety of competitive events in topics from public speaking to digital video design. On Monday, March 9, Edison students traveled to Mt. Vernon High School to celebrate the winners of our competitive events. Junior Jorge Mansilla was elected Regional President and State Vice President Representing the Northern Virginia Region. We were also honored as one of Northern Virginia’s largest FBLA chapters with 148 active members.

Model UN Conference

Last weekend our Model UN Eagles attended VIMUNC VII conference– Langley High School’s MUN Invitational. The Eagles prepared, presented their position papers, and debated. Some passed resolutions, and all performed well this day. Congratulations to our hard-working students, including:

Fairfax County Health Department Survey

The Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) employs school health aides and public health nurses who provide school health services to the students in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). To determine the quality of these services, a survey has been developed by the FCHD to be shared with all parents or guardians and school staff members who interact with the school health rooms.
