Dear Sangster Community,
I am writing to you with some changes occurring in the Sangster Elementary office during the month of March. I have been asked to serve as acting Executive Principal for the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Region 4 office from March 6- April 3, 2020. This is a short-term professional opportunity for me as I have served as principal in three different schools for 14 years in addition to previously working in a central office position.
While supporting the Region 4 office, Ms. Allison Jankovich will be Sangster Elementary’s acting Principal and Mr. Mark Merrell continues to work at Sangster as Assistant Principal. Ms. Jennifer Redford will also be appointed as acting Assistant Principal. Many of you know Ms. Redford as Sangster’s Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART), administrative intern, and musical theatre director. Ms. Redford has already served as acting Assistant Principal at Sangster last school year. She is a natural fit and continues to be an asset to our school and community in this role.
I have full confidence in this leadership team and will be in touch with them daily. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions. I am coordinating schedules with the Region 4 office and our administrative team so that I can be at Sangster for short times throughout the month.
