Your Views and Opinions Are Important to Us!

This spring all Irving Middle School parents/guardians will be contacted through email with a link to the FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form Online. This survey is part of the Performance Evaluation Program and offers parents/guardians an opportunity to provide anonymous input about various issues related to our school.  These issues include instructional leadership, school climate, human resources management, organizational management, communication and community relations and professionalism.

The survey will be collected online between March 12 and March 26.  When you receive an email from FCPS Surveys, please take a few minutes to complete the survey.  Your opinions matter.

The 8th grade will be taking a field trip to the Udvar Hazy Center at the National Air and Space Museum on Friday, March 27th. Volunteers will arrive at Irving Middle School at 8:30am and will ride on the buses with the students. Volunteers will travel with their groups, will participate in activities planned by the Udvar Hazy staff, and will eat lunch on site (weather permitting). Students and volunteers will return to Irving around 1:30pm. If you are available to spend the day with us, please sign up using this link and follow the directions on the SignUp Genius. Thank you!

“Go Paperless” Report Card Option Now Available

Starting with 3rd quarter, high school and middle school parents will now have the option to “Go Paperless” in ParentVUE and receive only online report cards. To take advantage of the paperless options, parents/guardians will need to log into ParentVUE, then go to “My Account” and select "Go Paperless!". All parents who share the same address as the student must have a SIS ParentVue account and must select the paperless option.

PTA BINGO Night

Library News

SAVE THE DATE!  We’re excited to announce that the Irving Library will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair April 14th through the 16th.  We will have both school-day hours and evening hours.  More details to come.

7th grade students are visiting the library this week to borrow books for their next English book project.  Their visit includes a lesson about how to navigate the new library catalog, which can be accessed via the net from any computer:  Irving’s Library Catalog

Because of their English projects, both 7th and 8th grade students should have books to read in their daily “Take Ten” reading time.  How about taking ten minutes at home to talk to your child about what they’re reading.
