Parents, warmer weather is on the way and we need your help to get the Learning Garden ready for planting season. On Saturday, March 21st from 9:30am - 11:00am, we'll meet in the Learning Garden (located next to the playground) to prepare soil in the raised planters, pull weeds, and get the garden ready for the kids to start planting seeds. Bring the whole family! Helpful items to bring/wear: boots/sneakers, gloves, hand shovels, and rakes.

This year’s Clermont Art Walk will happen on March 18th from 5pm to 7pm at the Gym. Come and enjoy Artworks of Clermont Artists, grilled cheese food truck, collaborative mural, photobooth and best in show vote. This year’s Art Walk will feature Clermont architects, textile designers, geologist, chefs and more!

Mark your calendar to attend a brief PTA meeting to discuss and vote on the budget on March 18. After you have shopped the Clermont book fair and browsed the Clermont art show (both at the school on the evening of March 18), please plan to participate in the meeting at 7 pm in the cafeteria.

Mark your calendars for Clermont’s first STEAM night! Students and families are invited to visit different booths set up around the school to learn more about what STEAM is, examples of STEAM careers, STEAM activities/resources we are already using at Clermont, and participate in many hands-on experiences! Students will have the opportunity to learn many new ideas from web design to Quantum physics. You don’t want to miss this exciting learning opportunity!
Do you or your neighbors have a child who will be 5 years old by September 30th? We are beginning to register students for the 2020-2021 school year. More information about registration, including required forms, is available online. Kindergarten Orientation is scheduled for Monday, April 13th at 9:00 a.m.
Spring Picture Day will be Wednesday, March 18th. Class picture order forms went home in Thursday folders this week. Extra order forms are available in the front office.
Individual portraits will be available for purchase after picture day. If you would like to select a background for individual portraits, please fill out the slip that is attached to the class order sheet.
The Office of Family Engagement will be hosting three meetings in the community to gather feedback from FCPS families, students, and staff on the draft of the Family Engagement Policy during the month of March. Individuals can also join virtually by using the information below. If you are interested in learning more about family engagement policy, please consider attending one of the meetings below.

Local bookstore Hooray for Books is partnering with the PTA to host award-winning author Karen Kane at Clermont on March 19. Although the author visit is for grades 3 through 5, Kane’s books are available for any Clermont student to purchase by March 13. To order books signed by Kane, visit this link or look for an order form in Thursday folders this week.
On Monday, March 16, 2020 make a yogurt and granola parfait for lunch!
For one day, Clermont’s, Salad Bar will turn into a Parfait Bar where students can build their own yogurt and fruit parfaits as an entrée. A Parfait includes: fat-free vanilla yogurt, whole grain granola, and cinnamon-spiced apples and other fresh fruit
Parfait Day Menu: There is a special menu on Parfait Day that is different from what is listed on the normal lunch menu. Students will be able to choose either a Yogurt and Granola Parfait or Baked Cheese Sticks w/ Marinara. (Both options come with choice of fruits/vegetables and choice of milk.)
