Paw Print week of March 2-6, 2020

Sue and Holly

Dear Panther Families,

Weather is a part of many of our science curricula and is also an interesting subject to learn about at any age.  Our 2nd-6th grade classes had the opportunity to learn more about weather from WJLA Meteorologist Veronica Johnson on Wednesday morning when she visited Poplar Tree. The students were excited about the presentation and we wanted to say again: Thanks @ABC7News for the #StormWatch7 Lunchbox Visit on Wednesday.

Read Across America is celebrated next week in honor of Dr. Seuss. Please see below the creative ways we will be celebrating at Poplar Tree. Please take some time to read with your children in honor of Read Across America.

Please note that there is no school for students next Tuesday, March 3. The FCPS School Board made this a student holiday to accommodate the 2020 presidential primary. Since many FCPS schools are voting locations, including Poplar Tree, the school board made this a student holiday for student safety and to ensure ample parking for voters.

We hope you have an outstanding weekend!

Ms. Andujar and Ms. Walker
