KISS AND RIDE AND CROSSWALK REMINDERS

This a reminder for our families in the kiss and ride line. Please remember to pull up all the way as per staff member direction. For safety reasons, students should exit on the side where patrols and staff are stationed. Please do not park and drop students in the line. If you park and walk your student in, please use the crosswalk.

We do have students crossing Dixie Hill Road during arrival and dismissal. While we have a crossing guard at this intersection, please be mindful of students and families crossing here. Dixie Hill is a 25mph zone. Students and families should not be crossing Legato Drive as there is no crossing guard or police and it is a busy intersection. If you do notice students crossing Legato, please inform the school. We want to ensure that all families and our students arrive and dismiss safely. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

ADDITIONAL REMINDERS

If your child is leaving early for any reason

  • Please report to the office and sign your child out. We will at that time call your child down from the classroom. Your child will not be sent to the office until you arrive at school. Please allow 5-10 minutes for your child to get their belongings together and come to the office.

If you need to have your child released early or make a last minute change in transportation

  • Please avoid picking your child up or making a change in your child’s transportation plans between 3:30-3:45PM. This is a very busy time in the classroom for your child as they are preparing for dismissal. They are getting important information regarding homework and other classroom announcements. Examples of changing your child’s transportation plans would be changing your child’s transportation from a bus rider to “Kiss and Ride”.

If you bring in your child’s lunch, instrument or homework

  • Please tell your child it is their responsibility to check in the office for these items. We will make every effort to make sure your child gets their lunch by their lunch period, but we cannot interrupt classroom instruction to let your child know it is here.

If any of your home or work information changes

  • Please remember to keep your emergency information current. We always need updated home, cell, and work numbers. It is necessary to have these numbers in case your child is sick or if your child’s teacher needs to get in touch with you.

If your child will be absent or tardy

  • Please remember to call the school even if you have notified the teacher. Our attendance line is open 24 hours a day. The phone number is 703-322-3131.
