Cub Run Kindness Week - February 17-21
2020-21 Kindergarten Registration
Will your child turn five years old by September 30? If so, contact your child’s school to make arrangements for kindergarten enrollment. Most schools begin getting information together now for parents of incoming kindergartners, and many host an orientation or open house. All kindergarten programs are full-day and located in FCPS elementary schools.

FCPS Equity Profile Data Updated
The FCPS Equity Profile is a part of the work outlined in the One Fairfax Policy which states, "Fairfax County Public Schools will incorporate data and publish performance measures that can be analyzed, quantified, and disaggregated to evaluate the extent to which our systems are achieving goals."
The Equity Profile data was updated on January 31. The student demographics data provides information about all students, various demographic groups, and specific student populations. A page for each of the four goals of the Strategic Plan outlines the work around division-wide desired outcomes and metrics.
This information is monitored to ensure that gaps in achievement, opportunity, access, and attainment are being addressed. In addition, under Goal 1, the metric reporting participation and performance in college-level courses has been revised to include Dual Enrollment courses in addition to Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses. All three Equity Profile years were recalculated to reflect this change. Also new this year, school profile information is available on every school’s website.

Mon 2/17 – No school; choose kind acts to do at home!
Tues 2/18 – We don’t rest until we’ve done our best – wear school appropriate pajamas!
Wed 2/19 - We work out our problems with kindness – wear school appropriate workout gear!
Thurs 2/20 - We can brighten someone’s day – wear your grade’s color!
(6th-Red; 5th-Orange; 4th-Yellow; 3rd-Green; 2nd-Blue; 1st-Purple; K/PS-Rainbow)
Fri 2/21 – We all belong – wear Cub Run clothes or colors to show we are a community!

Extended School Year (ESY)
Save the Date: 2020 ESY direct, class-based service dates will be June 29 – July 24, 2020. July 3 will be a holiday.
