Lunch with Parent Liaison!

Come and meet the new Parent Liaison, Annabel Arana, at Graham Road! On Monday, February 24th, the new Parent Liaison will be hosting lunch at her office in room 108 at 1 PM. She will be displaying the newly updated bulletin boards, sharing the most current school news and upcoming events as well as sharing community resources for this coming spring and summer. Please come with any questions about local resources or any questions you may have about your child. There will be light refreshments. See you there!

Vaping Info Sessions - Parents and Students

Graham Road Elementary School has invited the Falls Church High School Pyramid Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist, Anna Teeter, to speak with our 6th grade students about the dangers of vaping. We are taking this preventative measure due to the significant increase in the number of youth involved with e-cigarettes and vape devices, along with associated health concerns. This presentation will happen on Friday, February 21 during school hours.

On Tuesday, February 18, Ms. Teeter will also deliver a similar presentation for parents at Knox Presbyterian Church at 7:00 pm. This presentation is for parents only so adults can learn how to support children in making healthy choices!

Falls Church High School Heritage Night

You're invited to Falls Church High School Heritage Night on Friday, March 20, 2020!

Parent Survey of Students Grades 3-8 About AAP Level IV (full-time) Services

Fairfax County Public Schools has engaged with external researchers to examine our Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) in grades 3-8, with a focus on Level IV services.  As one of several data collections in the review, researchers are seeking input from all parents of students in grades 3-8 through an online survey.  Individual survey responses will be anonymous, will go directly to the researchers, and will not be viewed by FCPS staff.

Responses will be used by the researchers to craft recommendations for program improvements that will be shared with the FCPS School Board in late March.  Parents are asked to complete the survey only one time, even if they have multiple children in grades 3-8.  The survey is expected to start being sent directly to parent emails by mid-February and will close on February 28, 2020, in order to give researchers time to analyze results for their final report in March of 2020.  There will be a School Board work session on March 24, 2020 with the final report.
