Ms. Kelley Dauberman
We are sad to announce that one of our music teachers, Kelley Dauberman, will be moving onto another opportunity with Fairfax County Public Schools beginning on February 18th. Mrs. Dauberman became a part of our Villa family in the fall of 2013 and jumped right into provide students with a wonderful music education. While at the Villa, Mrs. Dauberman planned the annual Veterans Day performances, Winter Sing-Alongs, and 6th Grade Showcases that continue to be valued traditions. We wish her the best as she transitions into her new position at Columbia and Woodburn Elementary Schools.

Villa Gives Laundry Drive
This year, the Fairfax Villa SCA is sponsoring the Villa Gives Laundry Drive. We will be collecting laundry cleaning items to donate to a local family shelter, during the week of February 10-14. These items will be used for families at the shelter and for families that are transitioning into their own housing.
Examples, liquid laundry detergent, powder laundry detergent, laundry detergent pods, and dryer sheets etc.

Kindergarten Registration for 2020-2021
Do you have a rising kindergartener or know someone in the community who will have a child in kindergarten next year? Registration is now open for the 2020-2021 school year. Kindergarten Orientation
Help us spread the word that KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION will take place, Monday, April 13th beginning at 2:00 PM in the Fairfax Villa cafeteria. Doors open at 1:40 pm to begin arrival check-in. We look forward to meeting our future young scholars and their families.
The Frost Middle School PTA Invites You to Meet the Afterschool Specialist
Please come to the Frost Middle School PTA Meeting on Wednesday, February 19th, to meet Mrs. Deborah Metzger, Coordinator of Frost's After School Activities. Mrs. Metzger will share with parents’ details on the program including its current offerings, hours of operation, how clubs are identified, and the rules for participating in the program. She will also take questions.
Frost Middle School is located at 4101 Pickett Road in Fairfax. The meeting will start at 9:30am. Mrs. Metzger's presentation will begin at approximately 10am.

Reading Across America
Monday, March 2nd is Read Across America Day and it will kick off many events at the Villa to celebrate reading! Classroom teachers will have a “Read-In” sometime during the day. Students may wear their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffed animal/pillow. Also, student athletes from George Mason University will be taking time out of their schedules to visit and read-aloud favorite children’s books to many classrooms during the day. On Friday, March 6th, the school will have “Book Character Day!” Staff and students may dress up as their favorite book characters.

What does LOVE mean? The character strength of love represents the way we think, feel, and behave towards the people with whom we have close relationships. If you love a person, that person makes you feel safe and secure. You can be yourself with that person. You miss that person when he/she is not around.
WHY DOES IT MATTER? Love is imperative to an individual’s happiness and fulfillment in life. person. Itallows us to open to another person and be vulnerable. That openness gives us the ability to learn and grow. Love produces positive feelings, which help negate loneliness, anxiety, and depression.

Winter Activities – Important!
Parents, please make sure you come into the school and check your student out with the teacher. We have had kids running out of the building to meet parents in the car. Your child will not be dismissed until the teacher either has a parent physically sign a child out or sees the parent and dismisses your child.
Spring After School Activities
Registration for Spring After School Activities will open on February 20 and run until midnight on March 15. Flyers will be going home in the Tuesday Folder on February 18.

Fairfax Villa is hosting a fundraiser, and our goal is to raise $25,000 for enrichment items throughout the school! A full list of our goal items will be coming soon!
In just a few weeks from now, family and friends will support our school by giving pledges to-wards the number of laps your student will run on the day of the Fun Run.
We’ve asked the fundraising experts at Booster to power our program, making our fundraising simpler, more profitable, and more fun.
