At the start of the second semester, students’ Hawk Times may have changed. The decision to move a student into a Hawk Time with a math, English, or science teacher was based upon how individual students scored on the FCPS District-Wide Assessment, along with student performance on unit assessments, and teacher input. In these Hawk Times, student will be able to receive additional support and instruction from a content area teacher. Other Hawk Time changes that occurred might have been made to ensure that we keep Hawk Time teacher to student ratio as low as possible. |
About: Through this program, middle school students are able to give back to their community by tutoring local elementary school students. The tutees receive an enriched education and positive behavior modelling, while the tutors gain a deeper sense of community service and personal reflection. Tutoring sessions take place once a week, and last approximately an hour. If you have any further questions, please visit our website: homeworkhelpersorg.com
If your child is interested in volunteering, please sign them up here before Friday, February 14. We will have tutor training the week of February 17th and we will begin the program in March at Hutchison and Herndon Elementary Schools.
