Fun Fly
Saturday, Feburary 8th 2020, is West Potomac High School’s Fun Fly. This is for RC and Free Flight models, as in past years.
8 am to 2 pm • West Potomac High School – Main Gym
$5 to fly for the day, Spectators free. Concessions will be available.
We like to have models of any kind to display for the community, to show the scope of the hobby. If we get enough display models there will be a Static Display Prize. People have asked about selling items. Typically there is a 15% fee that goes to the school, but we aregoing to waive that. So if you have some items you want to sell, we can set up a table for those items.
Kids glider table will be set up.
Contact Joe Franco with any questions.
Beyond the Page Theater Company
Beyond the Page Theatre Company at West Potomac High School continues it’s 35th Season: From Across the Pond with Monty Python’s Edukational Show from February 6-8.
"Monty Python's Edukational Show" is the only authorized collection of Monty Python sketches and songs available for performance by young actors in North America. This brand new show offers up the genius of Monty Python in a hilarious 80-minute musical revue. Enjoy “Cheese Shop,” “Argument Clinic,” “Gumby Flower Arranging,” “Lumberjack Song,” “Dead Parrot,” “Galaxy Song” and many more Python gems, with a decidedly irreverent "edukational" theme.

Do You Know Your Test Preference?
Most students will show a strong preference for either the SAT or ACT format. This preference usually results in students naturally testing the SAT equivalent of 100 points higher on their preferred test.Sponsored by PTSA, mock tests are offered on campus to help students determine their preferred format and establish baseline test scores – not to mention the benefits of practice. Sophomores can make their junior year less hectic by determining test preference now! Juniors, get a little extra practice!
Top 7 Reasons to Take the ACT
- Accepted Everywhere
- It’s Concrete. The SAT can be abstract, but the ACT is more straightforward. It’s clear what you’re being asked without the added step of interpreting the question. Whether you’re applying to your local college or an Ivy League school, a school that focuses on STEM or the most artsy of liberal arts, the ACT can get you there. Every college accepts it without prejudice.
- No Hunting for Specific Lines There are no multi-step questions in the Reading section. This means you don’t have to spend time hunting for evidence in specific lines.
- Less Fatigue The sections of the ACT are short. You don’t have to worry that your focus will fade or that boredom will set in!
- Aggressive Guessing Yields High Scores. The ACT is fast paced but you don’t have to be perfect to be impressive. You can guess on select problems and do great.
- Word Problems are less wordy! If pulling equations out of narratives sounds like a chore, ACT word problems are simple and the correct operations are more obvious than on the SAT.
- Not-So-Mad Scientist - Don’t be afraid of the science section. You don’t need to be a master of the Periodic Table. The questions are based on your ability to move quickly through charts, tables, and graphs.
