Mason Crest Elementary School February Newsletter

Multicultural Night

At Mason Crest we are proud of the diversity of our community and know that it is one of our greatest strengths. To celebrate that diversity and to facilitate intercultural understanding our school will be hosting our annual Multicultural Night celebration on Thursday, February 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We invite you to bring a dish to share with the community and also sample foods from around the world that have been cooked by Mason Crest families. We will also have dancing, music, literature and other representations of the cultures that make up our community. Families are encouraged to dress in clothes that represent a culture or country that is special to them.

February PTO Meeting

The February meeting of the Mason Crest PTO will be held on Thursday, February 13. We meet at 6:30 p.m. in the library. Topics this month include changes to our Title I status and supporting the behavioral and social-emotional needs of our students. Childcare will be provided and we hope to see you there!

School Psychologists

Did you know that there is a School Psychologist assigned to EVERY school in FCPS? FCPS School Psychologists are working hard to make a positive impact on the academic and social-emotional development of all FCPS students through the provision of mental health services that build resiliency, life competencies and good citizenship.  Please follow them on Twitter @FCPSpsychs to find out more about how they impact students’ lives every day!
