Happy Friday!

As we settle in to a four day student weekend, we come to the end of second quarter and the first semester.  Students should take the opportunity to rest, refocus, and power up for the second half of the year.  Pleas encourage your students to stay focused and understand that there is time to improve in any area before the end of the year.

We are in a time where school safety is at the forefront of our community concerns.  Our goal is to create a safe environment at school and we will be adding a much needed 7th security person within the next couple of weeks.  This will allow us to better monitor the external areas of our campus.

We are also asking that your emergency care information is up to date including anyone who you would like to be able to pick up your student. It is important students are being released to those who you have deemed responsible and trusted.

Outside of school we want to remind students to make safe choices as well.  See something, say something is important, when walking in the community traveling in groups and openly communicating with family about where you are going and who you are with are all best practices for safety.  It take as a village and West Potomac is one of the strongest villages in our district.

We so appreciate the opportunities our students are afforded to interact and learn from our government representatives. Thanks to Representative Beyer who spent time with a group of our students answering their tough questions and engaging them in dialogue about our community, and shout out to our social studies department for organizing the event.

Have a safe long weekend!

Ms. Millard

"Monty Python's Edukational Show" is the only authorized collection of Monty Python sketches and songs available for performance by young actors in North America. This brand new show offers up the genius of Monty Python in a hilarious 80-minute musical revue. Enjoy “Cheese Shop,” “Argument Clinic,” “Gumby Flower Arranging,” “Lumberjack Song,” “Dead Parrot,” “Galaxy Song” and many more Python gems, with a decidedly irreverent "edukational" theme.
