PTA News...
PTA Board Opening
We're looking for a committed volunteer to serve on our 2020-21 Board as Vice President for Membership. Our current VP Membership, Lisa Taggert, will help you transition into this vital role and answer any questions you may have.
AmazonSmile
One of the easiest ways to automatically support the HES PTA without even thinking about it is through Amazon Smile! You can click the Direct Link to set up support or you can go to https://smile.amazon.com/ and search for “Herndon Elem PTA”.
Water Bottles Needed
The Young Scholars Club is building a greenhouse out of water bottles for the GMU Environmental Showcase. If you have water bottles that you could donate, we would appreciate your help! Please bring them in and place them in the box outside the cafeteria.
Silent but Chic Auction
Is there ever a good use for a velvet tablecloth? How big is too big when it comes to bows on gift baskets wrapped in cellophane? What kind of music inspires people to forget about their family budget? If you have opinions on any of these questions, we want you to join our team organizing the Silent Auction fundraiser. We want to make a classy, relaxed affair where parents can enjoy themselves, but we need volunteers to help us achieve that. If you have any insights or are willing to help, contact herndonptavolunteers@gmail.com.
Bring On the Box Tops
Remember, If you find labels that say "SCAN,” be sure to scan your receipt in the BoxTops app within two weeks of purchase. Go to www.btfe.com if you need more information about how to download the app and scan receipts. Do NOT throw away your clippable Box Tops! Some don't expire until next year, so continue to send those into your child's teacher so we can get credit.
