Virginia PTA Citizenship Essay Contest
All students K-12 are invited to participate in the VA PTA Citizenship Essay Contest. The theme this year is “What does it take to be a good citizen?” Students in grades 6-8 must write a minimum of 500 words, typed and double-spaced in Times New Roman 12 and 1” margins. First-place winners at the state level in each division will receive a cash prize. Valentine’s Day Dance Volunteers sponsored by AVID
Parent volunteers are needed to help support the AVID sponsored Valentine’s Day Dance being held on February 12th from 3-4:30 PM. Volunteers are needed to sell tickets during lunches on Feb 7th, 10th, 11th, and 12th from 10:41-12:41. Chaperones for the dance are also needed. Lion King, Jr. – Auditions and Tech Information
The Lion King, Jr Audition Packets and Tech Interest Information Packets are now available for pick-up the Theatre Room. There are online forms to fill out for anyone interested in auditioning or working on a backstage crew so be sure to pick up your packet as soon as possible. Students not currently in a Theatre class can stop by before or after school or between class periods - please do not stop by the Theatre Room during class time.
Auditions are February 12 and 13. Any student wishing to audition must fill out the Lion King, Jr audition form before auditions on February 12. Students will not be allowed to audition if they have not filled out the form and also turned in a signed Permission Slip, Rules, and Behavior Contract. This contract differs slightly from the tech contract so if you are planning to do both, please turn in both forms.
Any student interested in working tech must fill out the Tech Interest Google Form no later than Feb 14. Tech students must also turn in a signed Permission Slip, Rules, and Behavior Contract. Please note – any student interested in the position of Stage Manager must fill out the online interest form by February 7. There is also a second online Stage Manager Application form to fill out.
