MS All-District Honor Band

Math Night

Robinson Secondary School is hosting Math Night on Thursday, 23 January 2020 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm in Recital Hall.  Parents/Guardians of rising 7th to 12th graders are invited to learn about the math curriculum and sequencing offered at Robinson Secondary in order to better work with your student(s) as they choose their math course for next year.

Students should check their grade level google classroom site for detailed information and updates.

Activity Sign-up Procedure: 

Most activities are "open" and allow students the flexibility to select a different activity each day. Students sign-up on the café stage during their lunch period each day they plan to stay after. Select programs require registration due to program design. (Click here to view programs requiring registration). Return completed forms to sub school office or directly to Ms. Aunon in the café during lunch periods.

New STEM Program! | Robotics

Interested in engineering and design thinking? Learn basic programming skills and problem solving strategies by working in teams to design, build, and program Lego robots. Students with all levels of experience are welcome!

Art Club

Art Club will not meet on Thursday, 1/23. The next meeting will be on 1/30.

Dance Team

MS dance team practices begin on Thursdays. Students with all levels of experience are welcome and can join any week! There is no registration and students should plan to use the locker bay restrooms to change and meet Coach Bishop in the main hallway by the MS by 3:00pm.

Eco Club

Please join our MS Green Team/Eco Club and the HS Ecoclub in the Trex recycling challenge!  We are competing with other schools across the country to collect the largest amount of plastic bags and overwrap.  Instead of taking these plastics back to the store recycling bins, bring them to us! 

Collection bins are located in A203, B107, and E106A. 

The Green Team (ECO Club) meets each Thursday in A203.

Football Conditioning Program

This after school conditioning and weight training program is designed for middle school students interested in playing football at Robinson. The program will be offered on Mondays and Thursdays. Late bus service available both days, departing at 4:45pm.

Please note: Parent permission is required to participate due to the equipment use in the high school weight room. The completed permission form must be returned to Mrs. Aunon or the SS office before participation. Students may begin this program at any point in time and may attend when available.

Homework Club

Do you prefer to work on your homework in a quiet setting before heading home or need access to media center resources? Sign-up for Homework Club each late bus day you plan to stay. Space is limited to 20 students. Students meet in a classroom by 3:00pm for a snack before heading to the media center. Check the google calendar for meeting locations.

Academic Advising Begins

Middle School students will begin the process of Academic Advising in large group presentations to prepare students for when they meet individually with counselors.

Rising 9th grade Academic Advising:  Monday, January 6 and Tuesday, January 7

Rising 8th grade Academic Advising:  Wednesday, January 29 and Thursday, January 30

WIDA Testing will take place the Week of February 10-25.

Fanquest 2020!

On February 1st, Robinson will be hosting our annual Fanquest Special Olympics Basketball Tournament. The tailgate starts at 4:00pm and the game tip-off at 5:00pm.  For FanQuest this year, we are accepting non-perishable food items upon entry. This is not a requirement to enter, but we highly encourage your participation.

Recommended items include

- Canned chili 

- Canned tomatoes (crushed, peeled, diced, etc.), 4 oz - 1 lb

- Canned meat (chicken, beef, turkey, or seafood), 2oz - 15 oz

- Rice, 16 oz

- Spaghetti sauce, 14 oz - 1 lb (ideally in cans instead of glass)

- Canned fruit

- Dried or canned beans (black, kidney, pinto, etc.)

- Canned pasta

- Fruit juice (100% juice) 32oz - 64 oz

The collected items will be donated to the Food for Others organization. This is a local organization that's mission is to provide food for our neighbors in the Northern Virginia community. More information can be found at their website: https://www.foodforothers.org/
