Birthday Celebrations

Due to allergy concerns, we will be reevaluating our policy for student birthdays for next year. For the remainder of this year, store bought cupcakes or brownies are acceptable to be brought in by the parent at the child’s lunchtime.  You may also consider non-food items such as pencils, erasers, stickers, etc. All treats must be pre-arranged with the teacher at least two school days in advanced in order to give time to review the allergies in the classroom and confer with parents of students with allergies as needed. Treats may only be shared with students on the class roster and not with friends from other classes, again due to our need to verify our medical lists to ensure there are no allergies.

All children have the option to sit at our “Birthday Booth”, a special seating area in the café where classmates can eat together and celebrate a special day!

Bailey's Upper Parent Coffee

What:        Parent Coffee – Vaping

When:       Wednesday, February 26th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am

Where:      Bailey’s Upper

Please join us for an informative coffee with guest speaker, Kelly Rankin, with FCPS Office of Student Safety and Wellness to discuss the topic of vaping.  Vaping is an epidemic in our Nation and FCPS is not immune. Our teens are starting to experiment at a much younger age. Many teens that have an older sibling are introduced sooner than later. The earlier they start the quicker they become addicted to nicotine.  FCPS is currently working with teens as young as 9th grade that are addicted to nicotine and can’t make it through class without vaping. Join Kelly Rankin a FCPS Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist to learn about the dangers of vaping and why the addiction is happening so quickly.  There will be time for questions at the end.
