Save the Date: Multicultural Night

Please save the date for our annual Multicultural Night on Thursday, February 6 from 5:30-7:00pm. Feel free to bring a food dish from your culture to share with others. We also encourage families to dress in clothes representative of their culture or heritage on the night of the event. We are looking forward to seeing you all there to celebrate the amazing diversity at Mason Crest.

Poe MS PTSA Meeting and Curriculum Night

Our next PTSA (Parent, Teacher, and Student Association) meeting will be on Thursday, January 16th at 6:00pm! Transportation, dinner, and childcare will be provided. In addition, students who participate in the After-School Program that afternoon can stay at Poe from the 4:45pm after-school dismissal until the meeting if their families will be attending.

A school bus will be passing through several of our communities to pick up and drop off families.  The bus route will be as follows:

Stop 1) Eastmoreland Rd & Whitney St (Parliaments) - Departs at 5:30pm

Stop 2) McWhorter Pl & Carmelo Dr (Wedgewood)

Stop 3) Patriot Dr & Nathan Hale Dr (Vistas)

Stop 4) Braddock Elementary School

Stop 5) Poe Middle School - Arrives at 5:50pm

This year’s 6th Grade Curriculum Night is on Thursday, January 16th from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM.  As in the past, we will present information to students and parents in the cafeteria with an open house structure.  You are each asked to set up a table in the cafeteria and to have a representative at the table to answer questions. Each table should have samples of textbooks, student work, units of study, etc. It should be visual and informative. I recommend that each department prepare an informational handout about the courses offered in your department.  Ambassadors will also be available to provide students with individual tours throughout the evening.

Our PTSA will meet in the library from 6:00 PM-6:30PM.  If you wish to subdivide your table into smaller subject areas, you may.
