The Kanga Hop is our new school wide dance event for students and parents/guardians. Students are already practicing dances that they will perform for parents, as well as dances they can do with parents. The dress for the event is fancy attire.
Parents are invited to join us for the Kanga Hop during your child's specials period. Due to capacity and the physical nature of the event, siblings are not allowed to attend.

Spelling Bee for Grades 3 - 6 RESCHEDULED!
Due to last Wednesday's school closure, the Spelling Bee for Grades 3-6 was cancelled. The Spelling Bee for Grades 3-6 has been rescheduled to January 22, 2020 at 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the KMES Cafeteria. If you have any questions, please contact Kelley Brown therealrickynlucy@gmail.com.

Candid Photos for the Yearbook
There are three ways to submit photos for the yearbook:
1. Upload the pictures to https://keenemillelementary.shutterfly.com/. A Shutterfly account is needed to access the Share Site; if you don’t have Shutterfly account,
2. Email the photos directly to keenemillelementary@sfly.com and the images will automatically transfer to the Share Site. Or you can download the free Share Sites iPhone App and start sharing photos directly from your phone on the go.
3. Email the photos directly to kmesyearbook@gmail.com

Elite M.A. Tae Kwon Do in Springfield
Keene Mill's business partner, Elite M.A. Tae Kwon Do in Springfield, is offering four weeks of Tae Kwon Do lessons to Keene Mill Elementary students. Classes start January 27, 2020. READ-A-THON
The planning for week long READ-A-THON spectacular has started. Returning Chair, Iris Collis, is looking for interested parents who would like to help out and make this event successful. Any parents who have skills in videography, excel spread sheets or are able to help us cut and stuff envelopes from home, we need you! Family Science Night is Coming to our School!
Join us for Family Science Night at 6:00 p.m. on February 6, 2020, brought to you by the Children’s Science Center. Activities include: Stacking Currency: Financial Literacy, Magnets at Work: Everyday Uses, It’s All Relative: Exploring Gravity in Space, among others. Students will be participating in these hands-on experiments, specially designed to provoke interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects.
Volunteers are needed from 5:15-7:45 p.m. to set up, assist students with activities and clean up. Contact PTA Volunteer Coordinator, Jen Miller at kmesptavolunteers@gmail.com to volunteer. We hope to see you there!
