STUDENT RAM BLAST

Providing students and parents with important updates and reports of events and happenings in the middle school.

Elective Fair 2020

Today, January 10th, 7th and 8th grade students visited a variety of elective courses to hear and see what is offered. Each student visited four potential electives. As we begin the course selection process, your student should be well informed of their options. Please discuss their experiences in each class this weekend and assist your Ram in choosing electives that challenge but grow them! Pictures of the Elective Fair can be found below.

Managing Stress and Giving to Others: A family workshop and volunteer afternoon!

Organization: GMU Center for Psychological Services Join Now!

Jan 20 2020 at 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

10340 Democracy Ln, Fairfax, VA 22030, USA

Free parking! We are located in suite 202

Calling all families! We are planning an afternoon of giving back and decreasing family stress. The first part of the afternoon will be a presentation for parents on how to decrease stress at home. Children and teens will work with our college and graduate students to make cards to be sent to our deployed active military personnel, sharing stories and words of encouragement. The second part of the afternoon will bring families together to set "stressless and giving back" family goals. This program is good for children ages 5 and up, and at least one parent.

How This Helps Our Community

Through this program, we will enhance family mental health and highlight ways that everyone can make a difference in the lives of others. We will also show that thinking about others who are making sacrifices for our country will help children and teens feel better.
