Island Creek Elementary is proud to announce the addition of Ms. LaMaya Middleton, our Child and Youth Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC). Ms. Middleton’s focus is to provide confidential, short-term, situational problem-solving counseling services to our military-connected students and their families.
You are invited to attend a Parent Coffee on January 16th from 8:35 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. to meet Ms. Middleton and gain a better understanding of how she supports our school. Ms. Sarah Rowland and Ms. Stefanie Shelesky, our school counselors, will also be available for questions and answers. The Parent Coffee will be held in the Theatre.
Because of our strong military connection and our joy of doing good in the world, we are partnering with America's Adopt A Soldier ® for a day of service on Monday, January 20, 2020!
Please join us as we come together for a day of service in Region 3 on the Martin Luther King Holiday. If you cannot attend this day of service, we hope that you will help by providing Needed Donation Items. This is NOT a mandatory event. Students who participate can earn service hours.

The immersion online registration will open January 27, 2020. Online registration will be available on the Immersion Registration site. Parents will need their FCPS SIS account to register. If parents do not have a SIS account, they will need to contact Sabrena Capel at SLCapel@fcps.edu for an activation code.
Parents of students not yet attending an FCPS school are required to register their child at their base school to obtain a SIS account. Translations are available in Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.
The 2019-2020 Yearbook sales have officially begun. You may order online at ybpay.lifetouch.com, Yearbook ID: 5726720. The order deadline is April 17, 2020.
