Supporting the Dogwood PTO Mission: How, as a parent, can I be involved at Dogwood?

During the months of November and December, we asked “What are your hopes and dreams for your child at Dogwood?”. Based on your responses parents who attended the December meeting developed a mission statement that honors your hopes and dreams. The PTO is here to support our culturally diverse school and build a loving community where everyone is welcome and feels like family.

The goal for this meeting is to discuss opportunities for parents to be involved including creating a timeline of PTO events. We need every parent to attend. Your gifts, talents, perspective, and presence make Dogwood the incredible school that it is.

Understanding Social Media

Our School Based Technology Specialist will be sharing tips on how to keep your child’s interactions safe, productive, and positive. Data and guidance on social media will be provided as well as tips for talking to your children about sharing, posting, and avoiding digital drama.

Dismissal Update

Please be patient with us as we begin the new year with a new dismissal procedure. Safety is our number one priority and our new routine helps to keep student organized and arrive home safely. 

Kiss & Ride, SACC and Community Center will dismiss first and report to their respective locations.

All walkers will exit out of door 5 and 6 on the black top.  Teachers will be combining classes and it may take a few extra minutes for them to exit the building.

Bus riders will remain in their classroom until their bus arrives. This is communicated to classrooms by using a live dismissal slide. 

Please remember 3:15 is our last call for early dismissals. After 3:15 we will ask teachers to send your student to the office during our regular dismissal time of 3:35. 

Dogwood Hours:

8:35am: Doors open 

Bus riders and walkers enter through the front door and Kiss and Ride students enter through 5. All students go directly to classrooms.

8:50 am: Instruction begins

3:35 pm: Dismissal

Any changes to Dismissal procedures must be communicated before 3 pm.
