School resumes tomorrow, January 6

District X Honors Orchestra

Congratulations to Ryan Berestecki, Willie Henry, David Kim, and Thien Phan for being selected for the District X Honors Orchestra! These students will represent Poe at the district performance on January 11^th at South County HS. Way to go!

District X Honors Band

Congratulations to Gabriela Garcia-Trejo, Shane Gomez, Vince Le, Kadiel Rojas, and Mathias Chacon-Perez (alternate) for being selected for the District X Honors Band! These students will represent Poe at the district performance on February 1^st at Hayfield SS. Well done!

PTSA Meeting Our next PTSA (Parent, Teacher, and Student Association) meeting will be on Thursday, January 16^th at 6:00pm! Transportation, dinner, and childcare will be provided. In addition, students who participate in the After-School Program that afternoon can stay at Poe from the 4:45pm after-school dismissal until the meeting if their families will be attending. 

A school bus will be passing through several of our communities to pick up and drop off families.  The bus route will be as follows:

Stop 1) Eastmoreland Rd & Whitney St (Parliaments) - Departs at 5:30pm

Stop 2) McWhorter Pl & Carmelo Dr (Wedgewood)

Stop 3) Patriot Dr & Nathan Hale Dr (Vistas)

Stop 4) Braddock Elementary School

Stop 5) Poe Middle School - Arrives at 5:50pm

January:

• 6^th – School Resumes
• 16^th – PTSA Meeting at 6pm
• 16^th – Curriculum Night for current 5^th graders at 6:30pm
• 17^th – No After-School Program leading into Martin Luther King, Jr. Day weekend
• 20^th – No school for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
• 23^rd – Orchestra Concert at 7pm @ Annandale HS
• 24^th – End of 2^nd Quarter
• 24^th – No After-School Program leading into the long weekend for students
• 27^th – No school due to the teacher workday
• 28^th – No school due to the staff development day
• 31^st – PTSA Zumbathon at 6pm
