“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” ~ Anne Frank

A Note from Principal Eck

Dear Justice Families,

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for the new year. We hope that you had a restful and joyous break.

On Friday, January 10th, students will participate in Justice's curriculum fair. Please note that we will have a flipped bell schedule on Friday to accommodate the fair where 3rd period and 6th period are flipped. Students will have the opportunity to attend three fifteen-minute sessions to find out more information about specific courses to help guide their decision making for their 2020-2021 school year course selections. We have over 60 sessions for students to choose from, ranging from core courses to electives. We will have representatives from the various FCPS academies and our internship partnership organizations. While the underclassmen are participating in the curriculum fair, our seniors will participate in a senior pep rally and will view a wrestling match which is being hosted at Justice HS.

This is always an exciting day for our students! If you have any questions or need more information, please contact your student's counselor. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.

Upcoming Den Time Lessons

This week on Monday, students will learn how to select their course selections for the 2020-2021 school year using SIS Student. Parents will have access to their student’s selection through their SIS Parent accounts. On Tuesday, students will hear about the upcoming Curriculum Fair on Friday, January 10th.

The full orientation will kick off at 6:30 pm and is geared towards providing information for Rising 9th grade students and parents. At 7:15, students and parents of all high school grade levels will have the opportunity to talk with teachers, department chairs, school counselors and administrators about course offerings, course requirements, and scheduling choices. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held on Monday, January 13th.

Winter Coats Needed

It’s getting cold! Do you have any coats that you are no longer using? Every year the ESOL department collects slightly used coats for our students who need one. If you have an extra coat, we will take it off your hands and give them out to students who need something warm.

PSAT/NMSQT scores are now available online

PSAT/NMSQT scores are now available online if your student provided an email address on their answer sheet.

Students should have received an email reminder from College Board explaining where and how to view their score.  If your student does not see their score when they login, they may need to enter an access code which can be obtained from the PSAT Coordinator, Shelley Terry.  She can be reached at sdterry@fcps.edu or 703-824-3998.

We expect to receive and disseminate paper score reports in January.  Stay tuned. In the meantime, please have your student create a College Board account so they can access Khan Academy, SAT Question of the Day and a host of other personalized resources.
