Wildcat Families,

From all of us to all of you, Happy Holidays!  We hope that you have a wonderful winter break with an opportunity to spend time with family and friends.  Have a safe and restful break!

The school offices will be closed during the winter break. We will see you back in school on Monday, January 6th!

Liberty Middle School Visit - January 10th

The 8th Graders at Liberty Middle School will be visiting Centreville on January 10th from 10:00-12:45. This visit will focus on academic advising while giving our rising 9th graders a "taste" of life at CVHS. Students will rotate to various program sessions to include academic advising info, electives fair, activities fair and a student panel. We will also have a 5th lunch period on this day for the 8th graders. The bell schedule will remain the same for our students. We hope this will be a way to excite the students about attending CVHS while providing them with important and timely information about academic advising to help guide their course selection process.

Expectations for Athletic Events

Centreville fans are the best of the best. Centreville Athletics always expects all guests to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner before, during and after the competition. We expect all guests to treat other guests, players, coaches and officials with courtesy. Please join us in creating a fun, safe, family atmosphere at Centreville High School by:

  1.  Cheering with class. Be a good sport. Be gracious in victory and accept defeat with dignity.
  2. Not encouraging unsportsmanlike conduct toward players, coaches, and officials.
  3. Encouraging your team regardless of their play.
  4. Treat all competitors fairly. Don’t show excessive displays of anger or frustration. Have the strength to overcome the temptation to demean others.

Wildcat Fans WILL:

  • Cheer with respect and in the spirit of good sportsmanship for our team and not against the other team.
  • Be a positive role model for those around them by treating others with courtesy and respect.
  • Comply with any directions given by game management.
  • Promote sportsmanship through the use of positive sports related chants.

Wildcats Fans WILL NOT:

  • Ridicule, criticize, or show any signs of disrespect to officials, players, coaches, or other spectators in victory or defeat.
  • Display vulgar, racial, culturally insensitive or abusive language or threatening gestures.
  • Use names and numbers of individual players.
  • Enter the playing area at all times, including after the game.

Girls State (for Junior Girls) - Due by January 10th

Attention Junior Girls: Girls State is a week long residential program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary that exposes rising senior girls to citizenship and leadership through the creation of city and state governments. This year the Girls State program will be held from June 21-27 at Longwood University. If you would like to apply, please pick up an application from Mrs. Schneider in the Dominion subschool (3rd floor). Applications are due to Mrs. Schneider by the end of the school day on January 10, 2020.

High School Service Learning Hours (HS)

As per Regulation 3200, students are encouraged to complete the following number of service learning hours by the end of each grade level:

  • Grade 12 – 40 hours (Grade 12 includes all the hours completed in high school)

Data on student service learning hours are tracked in the Student Information System (SIS). Each student’s record has a field to note whether the student has met the service learning expectations for that grade level.
