Robotics team

Congratulations to our FTC Robotics Team

During the FTC Centreville competition, Cooper’s dedicated robotics team of engineers, programmers, and designers competed against teams comprised of both middle and high school students ranging anywhere from 7th – 12th grade. Our team placed 6th place out of 26 teams during qualifying matches. We were then selected for and became alliance captains in the semifinals. So proud of our student’s hard work and success!

SCA at Pine Spring Elementary

Thank you from the Cooper SCA

A BIG thank you to all of the staff, parents, and students who contributed to the Pine Spring Elementary Toy Drive.  Six staff members and twelve SCA students delivered the gifts to the kindergartners on Wednesday.  We enjoyed songs, cookies, coloring and story time before we surprised the kindergartners with a gift.  It was a great success and all involved had a wonderful time.  Happy Holidays!

AMC 8 Test Results

Students and Parents -  We know you are all anxiously awaiting your AMC 8 results - as are we!  The test was administered on November 12th, and the score reports were delivered to the Mathematics Association of America (MAA) offices the following day. The website states that score reports are generated throughout December and emailed to schools in the order they are scored.

Cooper’s contest manager spoke with a representative from the MAA on Thursday, and the score results are in que to be emailed.  The results should be emailed within the next few days.  Since we will be on winter break, the scores will be shared with students when we return in January.

We appreciate your understanding and patience with the process!

Theatre Expo 1

Theatre Expo is a big success!

Last weekend, our Theatre Department hosted their first ever Expo for 5th and 6th graders.  Fun was had by all, and much was learned about theatre, make-up, improv, and much, much more.

Theatre Expo 2

AAP Level IV Referrals

Deadline January 9, 2020

This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for referring students in Grades 2-7 for AAP full-time Level IV consideration is January 9, 2020. Referrals should be submitted to your child’s school counselor (Ms. Saint Germain or Ms. Wiley). Parents are welcome to submit early, but no late referrals will be accepted. We advise parents not to wait for pending abilities test scores if they would like their student screened. Click here for forms and documents related to the AAP screening process. If you have any questions about this process, please contact your child’s school counselor.

Congratulations to Science Olympiad AGAIN!

Science Olympiad's second competition was December 14 at Lake Braddock Secondary School.  The team earned 2nd place out of 46 teams!  Congratulations to our hard working team members and sponsors!!
