Deadline for AAP Level IV Referrals

This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for referring students in Grades 2-7 for AAP full-time Level IV consideration is due no later than January 9, 2020.  Parents are welcome to submit early, but no late referrals will be accepted.  We advise parents not to wait for pending abilities test scores if they would like their student screened. While the Grade 2 screening pool casts a starting point for screening some students, test scores are only one factor in the eligibility decision. 

If you would like more information about Level IV AAP services or the screening process for Level IV, there are two parent presentations available on the AAP public website  that have the same information that was shared at our local school information meetings. 

Referrals can be submitted to the Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, Patricia Fawcett, at pafawcett@fcps.edu at any time up through January 9.

We have a large number of items in our lost and found. Please stop by the table to retrieve items. All items not claimed by Friday, January 10^th will be donated to our B'Thrifty container.

Our much anticipated International Night is just around the corner!  It will be held Wednesday, January 22^nd, from 6:00-8:00pm. It is an evening of food and cultural exploration beginning with an International Buffet and then you will be able to travel around the school to visit different showcases presented by Newington Forest families and students.  If you would like to contribute food for the buffet or showcase your country with games, crafts, or items in a classroom, please fill out the form in your child’s Wednesday Folder and return it to school or visit our sign-up genius at:
