Dear Clermont 5th grade and 6th grade Band Families,
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Helen Landers to Clermont Elementary School! Ms. Landers will joining us as our band director for the remainder of the school year.
Ms. Landers is from Yorktown, Virginia and is a recent graduate from George Mason University. Ms. Landers is a huge fan of musicals and enjoys playing in pits during live productions. Flute is her main instrument, and she performs for live audiences in the community.
Ms. Landers has taught after school band classes and volunteered to assist with rehearsals for the Ravensworth Honor Band. She has taught trumpet for the Salvation Army and was the director for the beginner flutes at a local woodwind camp.
Recently, Ms. Landers has worked at both Island Creek Elementary School and Silverbrook Elementary School as part of her Music Education program through GMU. We are looking forward to having Ms. Landers direct our band for the remainder of the year and know that she is excited to become part of the Clermont Music Department!
