Playground Opened
The playground officially opened on Thursday! The students are very happy with the new playground and our teachers and staff are working with the students to help them play safe on the new equipment!
 
Hour of Code Week: December 16-20!
Next week all students will be participating in Hour of Code!
We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how technology works.
But only a tiny fraction of us are learning how technology works. Only 35% of all high schools teach computer science.
That’s why our entire school is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code. More than 100 million students worldwide have already tried an Hour of Code. Our Hour of Code is making a statement that Hunt Valley is ready to teach these foundational 21st-century skills. This is a chance to change the future of education in Fairfax County.

Winterfest Cake Donations Needed
Winter Fest is right around the corner and we're very excited for a whole night of games, food, and time with family and friends. We almost have a full volunteer list so THANK YOU! We need a bit more help in the Cake Walk Donations. If you can donate a sweet treat, any types of goodies are welcomed: cakes, cupcakes, cookies, muffins, gluten free, dairy free, nut free, etc. Winners from each round wins the full packaged sha-bang! The more donations we have, the more lasting fun the night can be. Please help us have a successful cake walk event and donate what you can. Goodies can be home made or store bought. Winter Festival
We are looking forward to seeing you at tonight's Winter Festival (5:30-8:30pm), hosted by the PTA! Tickets are available for purchase at the door.
Book Bingo
The PTA is sponsoring another fun literacy event! Students will be sent home next week with a double-sided bingo sheet with various reading topics or methods. Standard bingo rules apply and students may fill out and return as many bingo sheets as they want. Each sheet equals an entry into a drawing for at least one e-reader! Book Bingo runs from December 16 - January 17.

There will be no meeting in January. See you February 5th!
50th Anniversary Celebration
We are searching for support from our community to be part of a planning
