In honor of Inclusive Schools Week, our acceptance tree is up. If acceptance is an action, what are you doing to help it grow? Each leaf displays a student's idea.


Arrival & Start Times

Each day, students are encouraged to be in their classrooms by 8:40 a.m. to unpack and begin their morning routines. Instruction begins at 8:50 a.m. Students who arrive at school at 8:50 a.m. or later are marked tardy.


Holiday Candy Grams

Forms were sent home Monday December 2nd. Students can order candy cane grams for anyone in our school starting today using this form. They are 50 cents each or 4 for $1; due by Friday, December 13th. We will not be able to accept forms and money after school ends on this day.


Yearbook Design Contest

Calling All Artists!!

The Yearbook Committee is looking for your help!!! This year we would like to give you a chance to ”Design the Cover for the yearbook. Your design should be based on our school theme “Magic Happens Here”  Please see the attached PDF with the requirements for the cover.  All designs are due Friday December 20th!

Author Visit

Author Marc Tyler Nobleman is scheduled to come talk with students in grades 3-5 on Monday Dec. 16th 2-3 pm in the gym. See the attached flyer for more information.


SCA Warm Tree

The Warm Tree is set up in front of the cafeteria. Students can bring in new hats, gloves, and scarves and can decorate the tree. Students can bring these items in up until Thursday, December 19th so that the Salvation Army can pick up our donations before winter break.


December Spirit Day

Friday, December 20th will be Wacky Winter Wear Day! Show your Winter Spirit by wearing your wackiest, most festive outfits!


Employee Awards

Thank you to everyone who nominated Lees Corner staff members for the FCPS Outstanding Employee Awards.  We are pleased to announce that the following employees were chosen to represent Lees Corner:

If you would be willing to write a letter of support and/or just share some input about experiences you have with any of these people, please use the links below. Criteria for outstanding teacher:

AAP Parent Referrals

This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for referring students in Grades 2-7 for AAP full-time Level IV consideration is due no later than January 9, 2020.  All paperwork must be submitted to the main office by 4:30 PM.  No electronic copies will be accepted. 

If you would like more information about Level IV AAP services or the screening process for Level IV, there are two parent presentations available on the Lees Corner website at https://leescorneres.fcps.edu/announcements/advanced-academic-programs-parent-meeting-information or you can visit the county’s AAP website at https://www.fcps.edu/academics/academic-overview/advanced-academic-programs .

AAP Level IV Referrals can be submitted to the Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, Nicole Pierce, at any time up through January 9.

Upcoming School Closings

School will be closed December 23--January 3 for Winter Break. 

Monday, January 20th is a holiday.

January 27th and 28th are teacher workdays and staff development days.

Kindergarten classes are learning about the many different holidays our families celebrate. Parents have been invited to come in and share their family traditions with students.
