 North Springfield Families,
It is hard to believe we are already at winter break. We are our proud of the work our students have done so far this year, persevering through many academic challenges. If you are traveling over the holidays, safe travels and we hope that you arrive on time and without delay.
This morning our school had its 2nd annual Geography Bee, and all the teams did an amazing job. This week is a week of culminating activities, celebrations of community, and each other.
We wanted to take a moment to reflect on last Thursday's shelter-in-place at dismissal. First and most importantly the students and staff reacted exactly as our crisis plan requires. An area that we will look to improve in will be updating and notifying parents in a more timely manner. We would like to thank parents that were at the school for dismissal, sitting in kiss and ride, or waiting at the walker door. Your patience and understanding allowed us to focus on student safety and work smoothly with Fairfax County Police.
Have a wonderful holiday break and we will see everyone in 2020!
