Attention all STUDENT ARTISTS!!!
Draw, paint, or sketch a piece of art for the 2019-2020 Yearbook Cover Contest

The first-place winner will have their artwork featured on the front cover of the 2019-2020 yearbook!
- This contest is open to ALL current Columbia Elementary School students.
- It is required that the following text be creatively used somewhere within the artwork: “Columbia Elementary School” and “2019-2020” see the cover above for an example.
- This year’s theme, created by 5th grade, is “We Are All Stars” with space as the theme!
- Artwork must be on 5” x 11” paper (copier or printer paper is acceptable, but cardstock is preferred) – all other sizes of artwork and lined notebook paper will not be considered for the yearbook contest.
- Markers, colored pencils, or crayons may be used!
- Artwork must be positioned in portrait format, not landscape format, to fit the yearbook cover.
- All artwork must be submitted by Wednesday, December 18th to your teacher with the below form completed and attached to the back of the piece.
- Parents may not assist their child in the creation of the piece.
- A student may submit multiple pieces of art.
4 runners-up will receive placement on the back of the yearbook.
Columbia students and staff will vote for their favorite yearbook cover
Winners will be announced before Winter Break!

Behind each art piece, please glue/tape a piece of paper to the back of your artwork the following information:
- Student's Name
- Student's Grade
- Student's Teacher
Institute for The Arts

Elementary Institute for the Arts enrichment program (E-IFTA) offers to Fairfax County elementary school students opportunities to engage in Art, Dance, Music, and Theatre classes daily during the month of July. This year’s program will be July 6-31 and there are four, one-week sessions. Each session is different from the others. Students who love to sing, dance, act, perform, make and create thrive during this summer experience! For more information please see the most recent newsletter that focused on the E-IFTA program.
