Positivity Project

Postivity Project at GBW

Focus of the Week: Kindness

"You are generous to others and you are never too busy to help out. You enjoy doing good deeds for other people.”

Here are some conversation starters that will encourage your child to share what he/she has learned and talk about it with your family.

  1. What does it mean to be kind? What are some examples?
  2. If you do kind things for others, what can you expect in return?
  3. Could one small act of kindness change the world? How?

GBW's Nomination for Outstanding Operation Employee- Cindy Dall

Cindy

When the call for nominations for outstanding staff went out, the GBW community overwhelmingly responded in support of Cindy Dall.  Cindy Dall, our administrative assistant who has worked at GBW for over eighteen years, has been nominated in the category of outstanding operational employee.  We are so proud that she has been selected as our nominee and so appreciative of the community members who have acknowledged her awesomeness.  She is an absolute joy to work with and is deeply committed to the success of everyone at Greenbriar West.

SCA Holiday Food Drive

Human Growth & Development Lessons for Grades 4-6

Did you know that 5% of the food that feeds children in our area comes from food drives just like ours?  Our food drive is very important in our hometown and helps to feed over 200,000 children in the area!

As a result, we are very proud of our student participation in the SCA Food Drive.  Our food drive is taking place from Nov. 18th to Dec. 20th.  All donations will be delivered to the Western Fairfax Christian Ministries, a local outreach center that manages a food pantry for the local Fairfax community.  They are incredibly appreciative of the work we are doing and would like GBW to know how much our commitment to servicing the community makes a difference in the lives of others.  Please donations must be non-perishable food and no glass.  Our goal is to reach 2000 items!

Human Growth and Development lessons for grades 4-6 will take place December 16-20. All HG&D lessons, opt out forms, and videos can be viewed at home via Blackboard 24/7.

  • Log onto Blackboard FCPS 24-7 using your Parent View account
  • Go to the Curriculum tab and click Family Life Education from the top toolbar
  • It’s that simple!

Parents are welcome to contact the classroom teachers or Ms. Campbell with any questions.
