Yearbook Cover Contest
The yearbook cover contest has a winner!  Congratulations to 1st grader Amanda Salgado – her artwork will be on the cover of the 2019-20 (50th Anniversary) yearbook.  The 4 artists who’s pictures were the next top vote getters will have their artwork on the back cover of the yearbook.  Those students are Sophia Kamara (4), Kyle Clark (6), Debbie Burke (6) and Callie Gonzalez (4).  Congratulations! Thank you to all the students who entered artwork for the contest!!  Lots of wonderful and creative pictures to choose from!

No Pets on School Grounds
A friendly reminder that pets (unless they are a working service animal) are not allowed on school grounds.  That includes in the grassy area in front of the school near the walkers door as well as on or near the playground/blacktop areas.  This is in accordance with Fairfax County Regulation 2125.  Thank you.

Thanksgiving Luncheon/Veteran’s Day Celebration
Thank you to Julie Jameson for organizing our Veteran’s Day celebration.  It was a very special day with beautiful artwork all around the school.  The 5th graders gave a wonderful performance to our veterans, military guests, families and students.  Thank you to Amanda Stanco and Felicia Coyle for making some amazing bulletin boards celebrating our veterans and military families.

Thank you to Angela Meyers, Sheri Hale and Wendy Putnam for organizing and setting up our Thanksgiving Luncheon.  Thank you also to Mecha Granados and Kara Bergstrom for helping set up for the luncheon. It is always a fun Fort Hunt tradition for our students and their families!

FHES Veterans' Day Celebrations

veterans day

Veterans Day was a huge success here at Fort Hunt on Monday as we honored those who have served and are currently serving. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to come honor our veterans. We had a new program where the fifth graders performed for the school and community. Many of our amazing veteran parents volunteered to speak to classes and groups of classes following the program. We are fortunate to have an incredible community that gives in time, talent, and treasures.
