General Information

Parents Safe Teen Driving Presentation - 6:30pm

McLean High School will be hosting safe teen driving presentations on

November 11 , February 3 , and April 20

All presentations start at 6:30 pm.

The state of Virginia requires all 10th grade students and their parent/guardian to attend a 90-minute traffic safety program as part of the classroom driver education instruction. This condition must be met before a student will receive a Driver Education Certificate of Completion (DEC-District 8 card).

The Virginia Department of Education has said that students who complete classroom instruction in a public school must also complete PSTD at the public school. It is not acceptable for a student to complete PSTD at a commercial driving school and receive a DEC-District 8 card from FCPS.

No one will be admitted after the doors have been closed. You are strongly encouraged to attend the program at McLean. If you are unable to attend one of these dates, additional program dates and locations can be found on the Fairfax County Public Schools website at www.fcps.edu.

Veterans' Day

FCPSOn Billing

FCPSOn, our digital transformation initiative, expanded to all Fairfax County public high schools starting with the 2019-20 school year. As part of FCPSOn, all high school students were issued a device for learning. High school students will be assessed an annual technology support fee of $50 in conjunction with the FCPSOn implementation. The technology support fee will help ensure students have access to the technology they need by defraying the cost to repair and replace equipment. Students who have a Free and Reduced status and have given consent to share their FRM status for waiver or reduction of the technology support fee will be charged $25 for Reduced status; the fee will be waived for Free status. Parents will be invoiced for the technology support fee in November 2019 via Myschoolbucks.com. Arrangements can be made for parents who prefer to pay the invoice in person.
